The Need for Prompt Mental Health Services
More than 500 young people waited over a year for treatment after theirassessment, according to a study by the Health Service Journal (2018).Unfortunately, 26% of those individuals tried to take their own life as a resultof the delay in receiving mental health treatment. Young people seekingmental health care were forced to wait for more than a month in 44% ofcases, while 9% were turned away entirely (youngminds.com, 2022).
